Terror takes root in new trailer for Hulu’s Bad Hair

Set in 1989, BAD HAIR stars Elle Lorraine as Anne, an ambitious young woman who is forced to get a weave in order to succeed in the image-obsessed world of music television. However, her flourishing career comes at a great cost when she realizes that her new hair may just have a mind of its own. Feel free to chime in with "Simpsons did it" in the comments.

Hulu has released a new trailer for the horror satire which actually looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Written and directed by Justin Simien (DEAR WHITE PEOPLE), BAD HAIR also stars Lena Waithe, Laverne Cox, Jay Pharoah, Kelly Rowland, Blair Underwood, James Van Der Beek, Usher Raymond, and Vanessa Williams. Our own Chris Bumbray caught the film when it debuted at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and said that Justin Simien had crafted a "pretty witty, occasionally hilarious satire of 1989 showbiz" in his review. Bumbray added that the "comic vibe turns out to be deceiving with him digging into African American folklore to ultimately deliver a supernatural parable that has a lot more bite and a lot more gore than you might think." You can check out the rest of Bumbray's review right here.

BAD HAIR will debut on Hulu on October 23rd.
