Dr. Okun returns in new Independence Day: Resurgence clip

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

It's been a long time but I can still recall watching Roland Emmerich's INDEPENDENCE DAY for the first time and the excitement I felt upon seeing one of my favourite actors. Who was this actor who captured the excitement of my young self? Surely it must be Will Smith, the Fresh Prince who was on the cusp of breaking out in a big way, or perhaps Jeff Goldblum, the man with the remarkable yet confusing laugh? No, young Kevin was (and is) a giant nerd who thought that seeing Brent Spiner up on big-screen was the android's knees. Spiner's character of Dr. Okun appeared to have perished in the original film, but he ended up being one of several ID:4 characters returning for INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE.

You might be wondering what Dr. Okun has been up to for the past twenty years; if that's the case you'll be pleased to know that this latest INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE clip may have the answer. Hint, it looks like he's a chronic abuser of the snooze button.

A synopsis for INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE:
