Paramount has released the final trailer for Justin Lin's STAR TREK BEYOND, but like the previous ones, it is pretty vague about the plot of the movie. It does contain a healthy dose of previously unseen footage though, including new looks at the Enterprise crew in action, Idris Elba's villainous Krall and Jaylah, Sofia Boutella's mysterious alien character. The latest trailer also features Rihanna's new song "Sledgehammer", which will appear on the film's soundtrack.

"Let's make some noise."

I didn't think INTO DARKNESS was awful, however I do have my fingers crossed that BEYOND will be a better Star Trek flick than the previous installment. And while most of this year's sequels have also fallen flat at the box office, I'm hopeful that the movie will perform more like THE CONJURING 2, and less like TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: OUT OF THE SHADOWS or ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS.

STAR TREK BEYOND opens on July 22, 2016.
