Hayden Christensen has agreed to star as crack poker player Phill Hellmuth in the biopic THE MADISON KID. Written by Hellmuth’s friend Bob Soderstrom, the story
follows Hellmuth as he, much to the dismay and ire of his father, drops out of college to pursue poker full-time and goes on to defeat two-time defending champion Johnny
Chan at the World Series of Poker in 1989. Filming is expected to begin in April or May in Winnipeg, Canada. If this is anything like the last relatively famous pop culture
personality Christensen portrayed – that of Stephen Glass in SHATTERED GLASS – then he may have another critically acclaimed hit on his hands. Christensen is
currently filming the time travel thriller JUMPER and can next be seen alongside
Jessica Alba in the drama AWAKE and alongside Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce in the biopic FACTORY GIRL.
