Insomniac Games gifts The Raimi Suit to Spider-Man PS4 players

Anyone who is a fan of comic book products and owns a PS4 has likely spent hours playing the new Spider-Man game, swinging around New York and beating up bad guys in a wide variety of suits. The game allows players to wear all sorts of suits from Spidey’s comic book and movie history, and now players get to have one of the most iconic looks ever after Insomniac Games announced they would make available the suit from the Sam Raimi movies. No word yet on if the song “Hero” from Chad Kroeger would be unlockable as background music in the game too.

First seen in the 2002 movie SPIDER-MAN starring Tobey Maguire, the webbed suit went virtually unchanged across three movies – if you don’t count the black version from SPIDER-MAN 3 (which most people may want to forget about). Included in the game by popular demand, “The Raimi Suit” is included with the most recent update of the game and will be given to players for free as an awesome holiday gift from Insomniac. Your spouse may not have gotten you something nice, but Insomniac won’t let you down.

Here’s the original Twitter post with an image captured from a PS4 Pro:

When the game first came out you could also unlock suits from the movie’s SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and even from the animated series, getting to swing around the city as a cartoon character. As fans have made clear through internet comments, it seemed weird the Raimi-Maguire suit wasn’t in there as well. But no matter, the suit has now been made available, and for free, so you can get that wave of nostalgia going and start punching bad guys in the classic suit. Now if they could only get a side mission included where you beat up Topher Grace’s Venom it would be the perfect game.

The latest Spider-Man movie, SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME, hits theaters July 5, 2019.
