Mads Mikkelsen struggles to survive sub-zero temperatures in Arctic trailer

If you suddenly feeling a chill in the air it's because Bleeker Street Media has just released a brand-new trailer and images for ARCTIC, a harrowing survival drama starring Mads Mikkelsen (HANNIBAL, DOCTOR STRANGE). In the film, Mikkelsen stars as Overgård, a man stranded in the Arctic after an airplane crash, who must decide whether to remain in the relative safety of his makeshift camp or to embark on a deadly trek through the unknown in hopes of making it out alive. Icelandic actress Maria Thelma Smáradóttir also stars in the harrowing tale of survival as a young woman whose life hangs in the balance as Overgård attempts to navigate the many dangers of a desolate arctic tundra.

Directing the upcoming survival story is Joe Penna (TURNING POINT, INSTANT GETAWAY), who also wrote the script alongside Ryan Morrison (TURNING POINT, BEYOND). Bleeker Street Media released a series of photos for the upcoming film as well, which you can see for yourself below:

Good grief, just looking at these images is sending shivers down my spine. I would not want to be caught dead in temperatures like what we're seeing in ARCTIC. For starters, I have almost no survival skills to speak of, so chances are that it wouldn't be long before I wound up as polar bear food, regardless of how much cover a damaged plane could protect me from the elements. That said, I'm very excited to check this film out when it arrives as a limited release in theaters beginning on February 1st.
