As Miles Teller continues to rev his engine while starring opposite Tom Cruise in TOP GUN: MAVERICK, the highly-anticipated sequel to director Tony Scott's 1986 classic TOP GUN, the WHIPLASH and FANTASTIC FOUR actor has recently admitted that it's difficult keeping up with the smiley couch-jumper on set. After all, everyone knows that Cruise is a powder keg of energy, now imagine if you were meant to shadow him as he oversees several aspects of a franchise that helped place him on the Hollywood map. Personally, I know that my out-of-shape ass would be sucking wind next to Cruise's boundless passion for silver screen perfection. So Miles, I feel you, brother. And I commend your efforts for even trying to keep up.

Recently while speaking with The Wrap, Teller confessed to the outlet that Cruise's tenacity on set is like, a lot. In fact, when asked if he was able to keep pace with the "Show me the money" actor, Teller said, “I’m certainly trying, but it is difficult,” Teller than elaborated by saying, “Just the volume of it. I’m sure a lot of people can do it for a couple days or a week, but can you do it month after month after month? There’s been nothing on this film that didn’t take a lot of training to accomplish.”

Miles certainly sounds as if he's feeling the heat while portraying Bradley Bradshaw in the film, the son of Anthony Edward's pilot Goose – who was tragically offed in the original film. Joining Teller and Cruise for the long-gestating sequel are Glen Powell, Ed Harris, Jennifer Connelly and Val Kilmer, who is set to reprise his role as the volley ball smackin', teeth gnashing Iceman.

As Teller continued to tell The Wrap about his experience on the set of TOP GUN: MAVERICK, the "nothing to work with Reed Richards" actor commented on how meticulous Cruise is about his contributions to the project, and how he learned much watching the TOP GUN alum strut his stuff:

“I got a masterclass in how to make a movie, and Tom is always thinking of the audience,” Teller said of his workhorse co-star. “To work with someone who is so meticulous on every aspect, from the camera to the script to the character to the wardrobe to hair to makeup, literally every detail that guy is dialed in on, and anybody who works with him is fortunate.”

Good grief! Hey Tom, maybe you can stay a week at my place and help me organize the shit out of some comic book story ideas I've been kicking around, or pitches for new columns here on the site? I'll feed and water you as best I can while you're here, and hey, I make a mean plate of tacos. How can you say no to that? In fact, you can find my email via our About Us page. Reach out, and bring some of that effervescent energy my way.

It certainly sounds like TOP GUN: MAVERICK is gearing up to be worth the wait, and I'm sure that we'll be there with pilot wings on when the film hits theater tarmacs on June 26, 2020.
