Moore talks Southland

Where the hell is this picture? I only ask out of morbid curiosity, because I think that I may be the only person in the world who thinks DONNIE DARKO is beyond overrated. Still, this flick, from a ‘visionary’ director, with quite possibly the most eclectic cast of all time has been getting some of the worst press I’ve ever heard. You can deal with bad press on a movie like BLONDE AMBITION, what do you expect? But the follow up to indie classic, DONNIE DARKO? Mandy Moore talked to Sci-Fi Wire about SOUTHLAND TALES (I didn’t even know she was in the thing), saying that she basically knows as much about it as I do:

“I have not seen any incarnation of that yet… I had a great time working on it. It was one of those things where I met with Richard maybe two weeks before they started shooting. I had just finished that movie AMERICAN DREAMZ at the time, so I was like, ‘Um, yeah, sure, I’ll jump into this one. Why not?’ I play The Rock’s wife in the movie, if I’m still in the movie at all. They had to cut it down so much, and maybe they just cut out my character altogether.”

As I’m sure you know, TALES is set in a futuristic LA, where the lives of an action star with amnesia (The Rock), an adult film star (Sarah Michelle-Geller) and a police officer (Sean William Scott) intertwine, ahead of a backdrop of political satire and conspiracy.
