Next year Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will be back on the big screen in the upcoming comic book flick, BIRDS OF PREY. She won’t be coming alone either, and in a series of new photos that have made their way online before the first teaser (which could drop any day now), we get new looks at characters like Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), Helena Bertinelli/Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) and what looks like some of Quinn’s furry compatriots.

Rumors have been swirling that the first teaser for the movie is supposed to drop with the impending release of Warner Bros. new movie, IT: CHAPTER TWO, which arrives in theaters next week. But some kind citizens got the jump on the studio and released several screenshots from the movie, featuring the large ensemble which also includes star Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis / Black Mask. As some eagle-eyed social media users have already pointed out, one of the images of Quinn also has what looks like an animal sitting next to her, with many assuming it’s one of Quinn’s trusted hyenas (she has two, named Bud and Lou) from BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES and the comics.

Directed by Cathy Yan and written by Christina Hodson, the fully titled BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) doesn't have a full synopsis out to look at, but word is the movie centers on Quinn, Canary and Huntress as they assemble to protect Cain after she gets in deep with big, bad mobster, Black Mask. The movie also stars Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya and Chris Messina as killer Victor Zsasz.

It's hard to get a real grasp from what they're going for with just these out of context images, but there are some shots in there that hint at something a bit colorful and strange, but with hints of grit and blood. I don't know what to think about the movie yet but I am very much ready to get a look at that first footage, so quit dilly-dallying, WB!

BIRDS OF PREY is in theaters February 7, 2020.
