Samuel L. Jackson takes on Ben Mendelsohn in Captain Marvel clip

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Many of you are preparing to head out to see CAPTAIN MARVEL tonight, which will finally bring Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and set the stage for AVENGERS: ENDGAME, but if you'd like a little taste of what you're about to check out, here's a new clip from the Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck film which finds Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) taking on Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), a Skull leader who has been impersonating a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative. Naturally, things don't go quite so smoothly for Fury. Speaking of smooth, Marvel's digital de-aging continues to get better and better, and I'm almost entirely convinced that they somehow went back in time to shoot the film with a '90s-era Samuel L. Jackson.

The official synopsis for CAPTAIN MARVEL:

Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom.
