The upcoming third season of Titans will be filled with terror as it's been announced that Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser has joined the cast as Jonathan Crane, aka Scarecrow.

Titans will find Jonathan Crane as an inmate at Arkham Asylum who used to terrorize Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies' phobias. We've seen Scarecrow brought to life in live-action projects several times before, most notably by Charlie Tahan and David W. Thompson in Gotham and by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. In addition to Mad Men, Vincent Kartheiser's more recent projects include My Friend Dahmer, The Social Dilemma, The OA, and Das Boot.

Other new characters who will be introduced in the third season of Titans include Barbara Gordon, who is set to be played by Savannah Welch. Gordon used to be Batgirl until she was shot and paralyzed by the Joker, leaving her confined to a wheelchair as Gotham City's Police Commissioner. Gordon has a "combative relationship" with Bruce Wayne, but her life will get more complicated when Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) returns to Gotham, set on "rekindling their old romance and starting a new crime fighting partnership." Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo) is also set to appear in the new season. The third season of Titans doesn't have an official release date just yet, but it will be the first season of the series to be released on HBO Max.
