A couple weeks ago, we shared the very cool news that writer/director Buddy Cooper is finally making a sequel to his 1984 slasher The Mutilator (you can watch it HERE), with Terry Kiser (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood) and Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night) attached to star in the film. Now a Mutilator 2 casting call on Backstage.com has been brought to our attention, and not only does this give fans of The Mutilator a chance to apply for a role, it also reveals details about some of the characters we’ll be seeing in the new movie!

The roles that still need to be cast as of this writing are:

Zine: Male, 21-26

a wonderfully nerdy guy. He’s sweet. He unabashedly self-promotes his online horror magazine/pod casts/website. He’s doing it his way. He is a true fan of the horror genre. He is not self-centered. He cares about others, but he doesn’t seem to attract others. Something about him puts most people off. He is a good guy though and Happy Girl is insightful enough to be able to see his true nature.

Happy Girl: Female, 21-26

sweet, nice, dainty, non-aggressive, but probably packs a punch. Similar to Carol Kane’s characters, especially in “Scrooged,” (1988 with Bill Murray). She has a fondness for Zine, whom she has admired from afar. While she is not aggressive, she is assertive and makes her move when she has the opportunity.

Bo: Male, 21-26

Bo, a member of the cast, appears several times in the film within a film. He and Bleck, a crew member, leave the wrap party with two women, also film crew members, to have a more fun less populated party at the end of an ocean fishing pier where they smoke a bit, drink a beer and pose for Snap Chat type topless iPhone pictures. The women require the men to doff their shirts. After the group attempts to rescue another woman, they flee an attack by the killer.

Note: Role requires shirtless scenes

Iza: Female, 21-26

IZA, a member of a film crew, appears several times in the film within a film. She and her BF Liz leave the wrap party with two men, also film crew members, to have a more fun less populated party at the end of an ocean fishing pier where they smoke a bit, drink a beer and pose for Snap Chat type topless iPhone pictures. She and Iza make a joke about being topless and require the men to doff their shirts. After the group attempts to rescue another woman, they flee an attack by the killer.

Note: Role requires topless nudity and underwear for a scene.

Production states: “Bo and Bleck will take their shirts off. Liz, Iza will be shown topless and wearing underwear. The only body parts to be shown will be breasts. For Bo, Bleck, Liz and Iza the exposure occurs as they, as a group, have a fun time playing on an ocean pier and get around to taking their clothes off for Snapchat type iPhone shots. It’s in good fun and the women make fun of the situation.”

Liz: Female, 21-26

Liz, the Script Supervisor on a film crew, appears several times in the film within a film. She and her BF Iza leave the wrap party with two men, also film crew members, to have a more fun and less populated party at the end of an ocean fishing pier where they smoke a bit, drink a beer and pose for Snapchat type topless iPhone pictures.

Ed: Male, 25-35

Ed, the editor on this shoot, appears several times in this production. He operates the editing console, walks, talks.

Jack: Male, 45-50

Jack is the overbearing director of the film within the film. He has anger issues and an overinflated ego.

If you think you’d be the perfect actor to bring one of these roles to life, head over to Backstage for more info.

The original The Mutilator (a.k.a. Fall Break) had the following synopsis:

Years after the accidental death of his wife, a deranged man starts to slice and dice his son’s friends at a beachfront condominium.

The film starred Jack Chatham, Matt Mitler, Ruth Martinez, and Bill Hitchcock… and Mad Monster has confirmed that Martinez and Hitchcock will be returning to play roles in Mutilator 2. This despite the fact that Hitchcock’s character was killed the first time around!

Promising to “bring together modern horror and a taste of the ’80s fun that fans loved from the original”, Mutilator 2 will begin filming in 2022.

Buddy Cooper and Damian Maffei will be attending the Mad Monster Party Carolina convention from February 18th through the 20th, and during that time Mad Monster will be hosting a Mutilator 2 panel where fans will be able to learn more information about the follow-up. Tickets to the convention can be purchased at THIS LINK.
