Marvel will soon be opening our minds to the world of magic when the Scott Derrickson directed DOCTOR STRANGE hits theaters later this year. We've discovered plenty about The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor), as well as Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) himself, but we still don't know too much about Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen) and what he hopes to achieve. Included in the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is a short DOCTOR STRANGE featurette which sheds a little light on what Kaecilius and his followers will be getting up to.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explains that Kaecilius and his followers, called The Zealots, have become seduced by what they find on the other side and are "interested in spilling the barriers between the dimensions." Given that Doctor Strange and friends aren't overly pleased by this, I'd assume that spilling the barriers is something which we'd prefer not to happen.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.
DOCTOR STRANGE is due for a November 4, 2016 release.
