New sequel to The Lost Boys coming in comic book form

With comic book sellers and collectors as main characters, there are few horror films that are more suited to have comic book follow-ups than 1987's THE LOST BOYS, and that's what it's getting. Comic publisher Vertigo has announced that they will be releasing a Lost Boys sequel mini-series later this year, the first issue set to hit the stands on October 12.

The team behind the mini-series consists of writer Tim Seeley and artists Scott Godlewski and Patricia Mulvihill. Tony Harris will be providing the cover art. Seeley's story sounds like it ignores the cinematic sequels LOST BOYS: THE TRIBE and LOST BOYS: THE THIRST and is instead a direct continuation from the ending of the original film.

Santa Carla, California, is on edge. The eccentric coastal town and haven for the undead was finally returning to “normal” after its last supernatural scuffle left the local vampire coven’s leader dead and gave newcomers Michael and Sam Emerson a housewarming both violent and bizarre. Now the brothers must once again team up with militant vampire hunters Edgar and Allan Frog as a new gang of ruthless, stunning, life-sucking nightcrawlers known as the Blood Belles emerges from the aftermath to collect Michael’s love interest and their lost sister, Star.

This isn't the first time the LOST BOYS characters have had a story told in comic book form. In 2008, THE TRIBE screenwriter Hans Rodionoff wrote a four-issue series called Reign of Frogs that was set between the first two movies. I collected Reign of Frogs and I will be collecting this new mini-series as well.
