Genre regulars Alexandre Aja and Franck Khalfoun have worked together many times over the years. Khalfoun had acting roles in Aja’s movies High Tension and Piranha 3D, worked in the script department on Aja’s The Hills Have Eyes remake, and was an executive producer on his film Oxygen. Aja wrote and produced Khalfoun’s directorial efforts P2 and Maniac. And now they’ve teamed up again for the thriller Night of the Hunted, which is set to start streaming on both the Shudder and AMC+ services as of October 20th. We’ve gotten our hands on a trailer for Night of the Hunted, and you can check it out in the embed above.

Like several of the previous Aja and Khalfoun projects, Night of the Hunted is a remake. In this case, the source material is the 2015 Spanish film La Noche del Ratón.

Khalfoun directed Night of the Hunted from a script he wrote with Glen Freyer, based on the La Noche del Ratón screenplay that was written by Rubén Ávila Calvo and that film’s director David R.L. Here’s the synopsis: When an unsuspecting woman stops at a remote gas station in the dead of night, she’s made the plaything of a sociopathic sniper with a secret vendetta. To survive she must not only dodge his bullets and fight for her life, but also figure out who wants her dead and why.

Camille Rowe (The Deep House) stars alongside Aleksandar Popovic (Black Widows), J. John Bieler (The Food That Built America), Brian Breiter (Amityville: The Awakening), and newcomer Monaia Abdelrahim.

Aja produced Night of the Hunted with Noémie Devide, Morris Ruskin, and Alix Taylor. Khalfoun serves as executive producer with Brahim Chioua, Laurence Clerc, Celine Dornier, Frédéric Fiore, Aleksandr Fomin, Pascal Hostachy, Vincent Maraval, Joseph Mellicker, Ivan Tarlykov, and Sergey Torchilin.

I’m a fan of most of Aja and Khalfoun’s work and Night of the Hunted looks good to me, so I will definitely be watching this movie when it’s released next month.
