MGM has set BOOGEYMAN writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White to pen their upcoming POLTERGEIST remake. They have a hell of a job ahead of them considering the original was co-written by Steven Spielberg under direction by cult horror icon Tobe Hooper. In the 1982 original, a family moves into a house built over an Indian burial ground and becomes terrorized by an army of scary ass mutha ‘uckin’ (that’s not a typo) ghosts. The duo has a little experience in the horror genre since in addition to BOOGEYMAN, they also scripted the upcoming Nicolas Cage starring KNOWING and have been contracted to write Platinum Dunes’ upcoming THE BIRDS remake. Yipes, these guys aren’t dicking around with the writing of remakes of classic horror films.
