You read that headline correctly. Ralph “Daniel-san” Macchio has joined the cast of ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND THE MAKING OF PSYCHO. He will be playing screenwriter Joseph Stefano. As you can see from the image above, there is a bit of a resemblance.

Macchio, best known for THE KARATE KID trilogy and his recent stint on Dancing with the Stars, joins the cast that already boasts Jessica Biel, Anthony Hopkins, James D’Arcy, Helen Mirren, and Scarlett Johansson.

It is nice to see Macchio getting a role in a pretty big film since he is actually a decent actor. Stefano was an important character in the creation of PSYCHO and the well known bad blood between him and Hitchcock will make for some interesting screen time between Macchio and Hopkins.
