FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM follows the adventures of writer Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he explores New York’s secret community of witches and wizards seventy years before Harry Potter reads his book in school. Of course, previous trailers have not showcased many of these so-called “fantastic beasts”, so the latest trailer straight from SDCC should please those looking for a little more!
While I was always down for movies in the Harry Potter-verse, FANTASTIC BEASTS has yet to win me over with its story. We still haven’t seen enough about Newt to really latch onto him as a lead character, so I’m hoping that’s rectified in the film. It appears as though he has a “muggle” friend in this one, so that should provide an interested dynamic amidst all the action.
FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM will hit theaters on November 18, 2016.
