The Russo Brothers have a certified hit on their hands with The Gray Man, so it’s only natural that their relationship with Netflix continues. The directors are currently prepping their next Netflix project, and Deadline has reported a handful of exciting new additions to the cast.

Michelle Yeoh, Stanley Tucci, Brian Cox, Jason Alexander, and Jenny Slate are set to join the cast of The Electric State, a sci-fi drama that will star Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt. Based on the illustrated novel by Simon Stålenhag, The Electric State is “set in a retro-futuristic past, where an orphaned teenager (Brown) traverses the American West with a sweet but mysterious robot and an eccentric drifter in search of her younger brother.” It’s not known who the latest additions to the cast will play, but insiders told Deadline that Brian Cox and Jenny Slate will voice CGI characters.

The Russo Brothers will direct The Electric State for Netflix, with Avengers: Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely adapting the script. Production is expected to kick off this fall, and sources have said that the budget will exceed that of The Gray Man, which was said to cost $200 million.

Speaking of The Gray Man, the action thriller starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, and Ana de Armas has proven to be a big success. Netflix has tapped the Russo Brothers to develop a sequel and spinoff, thereby building The Gray Man universe. “The audience reaction to The Gray Man has been nothing short of phenomenal,” The Russo Brothers said in a statement. “We are so appreciative of the enthusiasm that fans across the world have had for this film. With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for the Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe, and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon. The Gray Man is now streaming on Netflix, and you can check out a review from our own Chris Bumbray right here.
