Ryan Reynolds shares photo from first day of filming on Deadpool sequel

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Time to make the f*ckin' chimichangas…again.

We've seen Josh Brolin pumping iron in preparation for his role as Cable and we've even seen Ryan Reynolds hanging around the X-Mansion in full costume and…shit, we've already seen a way early teaser trailer, but DEADPOOL 2 (or whatever they end up calling it) is officially underway. Ryan Reynolds shared a clapboard shot from the set, indicating that production has commenced, which may not be much, but it's enough to get excited about if you're a fan, which I most certainly am. Check it out below.

The sun sets on day 1. Feels good to be back. This dog can hunt.

Director David Leitch (JOHN WICK, ATOMIC BLONDE) takes over for Tim Miller on the sequel and I don't think you could've found a better fit to both capture the spirit of Deadpool, while still upping the ante. I genuinely look forward to seeing Wade Wilson go full John Wick mode at some point in the film (or multiple points). Ultimately, this is the role Reynolds was born to play and my hope is that they can capture lightning in a bottle once again as I'd happily watch more Deadpool films until they're too old to continue.

DEADPOOL 2 is slated to drop on June 1st, 2018 (less than a year…in case you don't do math)
