Jigsaw is back, baby! Our own Tyler Nichols caught a screening of Saw X in Las Vegas over the weekend and was pleased to call it a “return to form” for one of horror’s biggest franchises. You can check out Tyler’s Saw X reaction below, as well as a handful of others. We’ll update with more Saw X reactions as they come in.

If you’re already a Saw fan, you should be in for a good time, and more John Kramer is never a bad thing. The last few films in the Saw franchise were seriously light on Kramer/Jigsaw, but Saw X director Kevin Greutert has said that the new sequel will feature more of Tobin Bell’s Jigsaw than in any other film in the franchise. “Kramer is the centre of the story,” Greutert said. “They tried to make the last Saw without Tobin, and to me, that was a pretty gutsy move.” We’ll also see plenty of Shawnee Smith as Amanda Young, with Greutert saying that she will be a “major character.

Will Saw X lead to more sequels? That’s up to fans (and the box office), but Greutert believes there will be. “There’s no obvious new direction to go after this film,” he said. “But I think there probably will be more Saw movies, particularly if this one’s successful.

John Kramer (Tobin Bell) is back. The most chilling installment of the SAW franchise yet explores the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game,” reads the official Saw X synopsis. “Set between the events of SAW I and II, a sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Armed with a newfound purpose, John returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through a series of ingenious and terrifying traps.

Saw X will hit theaters on September 29th.
