Have you ever wished that you could leave all your workplace drama at the office instead of bringing it home? Is your work-life balance all out of whack? If you answered yes to either of those questions, perhaps today’s Severance trailer is for you.

Apple TV+ has unveiled a teaser trailer and a premiere date for its highly anticipated new drama series, Severance, from director and executive producer Ben Stiller (Escape at Dannemora, Tropic Thunder), and creator Dan Erickson, which will launch globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on February 18, 2022, followed by new weekly installments, each Friday during its nine-episode season.

In Severance, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in ‘work-life balance’ is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work… and of himself.

Severance finds Ben Stiller reteaming with Patricia Arquette (True Romance, Boyhood), who joins Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation, Little Evil), John Turturro (The Big Lebowski, Barton Fink), Britt Lower (High Maintenance, Casual), Zach Cherry (You, Succession), Dichen Lachman (Jurassic World: Dominion, Altered Carbon), Jen Tullock (6 Balloons, Before You Know It), Tramell Tillman (Dietland, Godfather of Harlem), Michael Chernus (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Orange is the New Black), and Christopher Walken (The Rundown, Suicide Kings).

The series is written and created by Dan Erickson. Mark Friedman, Chris Black, John Cameron, and Andrew Colville are executive producers alongside Erickson. Ben Stiller, Nicky Weinstock, and Jackie Cohn executive produce through Red Hour Productions, and both Patricia Arquette and Adam Scott serve as producers.

What do you think of Apple’s new Severance trailer? I think this movie looks weird and wonderful, and I am all about it. As much as I love my job, I can’t help but wonder if there’s something to this Severance procedure. There are days when I find myself fretting over work-related matters well after quitting time, and could use a way to unplug. I don’t know if letting a corporation fiddle with my brain meats is the answer, but perhaps I’ll keep an open mind.
