Severin is releasing an Al Adamson box set containing 32 films

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Over the course of a film career that lasted from 1960 to 1989, director Al Adamson made over thirty movies in a variety of genres – horror, biker movies, martial arts, blaxploitation, softcore, a bizarre talking chimp movie, etc. Tragically, he was murdered in 1995. Twenty-five years after his death, Severin Films is paying tribute to the man and his movies with an incredible Blu-ray box set release that contains nearly everything Adamson ever made.

Comparing the list of movies in the box set to what's on his filmography, I only see a few missing entries. One is something he only contributed "new footage" to, the other something he was uncredited on. He also directed an X-rated western under a pseudonym that doesn't appear to be in the set. I guess it counts as a George Sheaffer film rather than an Al Adamson film. But aside from that, it's astounding to see nearly every Adamson project together in one box.

Severin Films is proud to present the most comprehensive Blu-ray box set ever dedicated to the works of a single genre filmmaker with Al Adamson: The Masterpiece Collection, featuring 31 remastered Adamson films on 14 discs, plus trailers, audio commentaries, a 126-page book, the 2019 documentary feature BLOOD & FLESH: THE REEL LIFE & GHASTLY DEATH OF AL ADAMSON and more.

Exhaustively compiled for the first time ever, Adamson’s ouvre spans a wild-beyond-belief world of bloody brains, vicious cowboys, naughty nurses, decrepit actors, sexy stewardesses, mad scientists, brutal bikers, Blaxploitation mayhem, kung fu killers and “scenes so SICK the Movies could never show them before!”

The life and career of B-movie maverick Adamson – known for such low budget classics as SATAN’S SADISTS, DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN and THE NAUGHTY STEWARDESSES (as well as his own grisly 1995 murder) – reveals perhaps the most bizarre career in Hollywood history.
