Shelly and offline bots added to Friday the 13th: The Game

Friday the 13th: The Game

The developers of Friday the 13th: The Game have added another familiar face from the film franchise into the game with its latest update. Following JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI's Tommy Jarvis, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III's Fox, and PART III's Chuck (under the name Mitch Floyd) into the world of the game is yet another PART III character – Shelly, the victim responsible for supplying slasher Jason Voorhees with his iconic hockey mask.

The Shelly announcement was made on the game's official Facebook page with the video embedded below. Thirty-five years after first running into Jason, Shelly is back to die all over again. Again and again.

Shelly Finkelstein will be coming back to Camp Crystal Lake to troll his fellow counselors… that is until Jason shows up! Get Shelly for free with the latest patch!

The latest update will be coming for PS4 and Steam on Monday, Dec. 18th with the Xbox One patch to follow shortly!

The game has only been multiplayer up to this point, but this new update is supposed to include offline bots as well.

Maybe you hate playing online with people. Maybe you want to learn the lay of the land in all the maps. Maybe you just want to practice laying waste to scores of counselors. No matter the why of your situation, today I am happy to announce that the next update of Friday the 13th: The Game will include offline bots.

To access this new feature, you’ll want to select the new “Offline Play” menu item, and then “Offline Bots”. Next up you’ll want to select the map you want to play on, and select your preferred counselor punishing Jason.

Finally, you will be able to select how difficult the bots you play against will be from the 3 difficulty levels included in the update – Easy, Normal, and Hard. The higher the difficulty you choose, the longer counselors will remember you being in the area, the more likely they are to fight you, the quicker they are to react to your presence, the quicker they are to exit hiding spaces when you leave, and the more likely they are to use Medical Sprays smartly.

They’ll fix cars, boats, hide in closets, under beds, in sleeping bags, barricade doors, and more to keep you from making them into another victim. Feel like honing your single prey hunting skills? You’ll be able to select from 1 to 7 counselors in your offline game to ensure that you are playing against exactly how many counselors you want to stalk.

Four-time Jason Kane Hodder provided the motion capture performance for the character in the game, which was made with the blessing of Sean S. Cunningham, director of the original FRIDAY THE 13TH, and features a score by series composer Harry Manfredini, plus kills designed by special effects artist Tom Savini. Collectible audio recordings scripted by JASON LIVES writer/director Tom McLaughlin and HATCHET's Adam Green are hidden throughout the game's maps. JASON LIVES star Thom Mathews reprises the role of Tommy Jarvis in the game, with Kristina Klebe as one of the counselors and Jen Burton as Pamela Voorhees.
