While the world is gearing up for the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, I imagine there’s a massive Spider-fan continent that’s just as excited about Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel. And now, Sony’s put the opening scene of what’s now been revealed to be a two-parter called Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse online. You can watch the embedded teaser above, which seems to be the movie’s opening scene featuring a reunion between Shameik Moore’s Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld’s Spider-Gwen

The first instalment of the two-parter is set to hit theatres on October 7th, 2022. The news of the film being broken up into two parts, and the first look comes out of CCXP in Sao Paulo. According to the official synopsis, in the sequel “Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers & Justin K. Thompson. I don’t know about all of you, but I’m probably even more excited for a Spider-Verse sequel than I am for No Way Home. But, as much as I’m sure that live-action MCU sequel will be all we’re hoping for, I got a thrill out of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse that I haven’t gotten from a superhero movie in years, and writers/producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are definitely onto something. Oscar Isaac is primed to join the sequel as Spider-Man 2099, while Issa Rae plays Spider-Woman.
