Holy shit, I have goosebumps!

MAN OF STEEL just debuted the brand new trailer that will be in theaters in front of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY and it allays all fears I had from the first teasers.

Yes, we will be getting another origin story but it looks like Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan are keeping their promise that this will be a new Superman for a new generation. Yes, the story is the same one we know, but it does look fresh from these images. Snyder’s visual style looks more subdued than usual which makes me very happy. it looks….realistic.

We get our first looks at General Zod, Lois Lane, Ma and Pa Kent, as well as Jor-el. We see Superman on fire. We see the creation of the Fortress of Solitude. We see the image of Superman in chains from the poster. We see pretty much everything and it is awesome.

MAN OF STEEL has just gone from on my list to top of my list for next Summer. Henry Cavill looks like the closest thing we have ever had to the comic book Superman. His Clark Kent is still a mystery as we only see him as a young man or with the scraggly fisherman beard. No fedora and horn-rimmed glasses from this trailer.

MAN OF STEEL will open in theaters on June 14, 2013.
