The Australian horror film Talk to Me has already managed to become one of the most popular genre releases of the year. It has made almost $50 million at the global box office, generated a lot of positive word-of-mouth, and gotten praise from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Jordan Peele, and Peter Jackson (not to mention JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray, who gave it an 8/10 review). Its financial success has resulted in A24 ordering a sequel called Talk 2 Me from directors Danny and Michael Philippou – and now we know when it’s going to be reaching physical media. Amazon is already accepting pre-orders for Blu-ray and 4K releases of Talk to Me with the release date of October 3rd. Check it out at THIS LINK!

Talk to Me marks the feature directorial debut of the Philippou brothers, who have a following of over 6 million subscribers on their YouTube channel RackaRacka. The film has the following synopsis: When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and unleashes terrifying supernatural forces. Danny Philippou wrote the screenplay for Talk to Me with Bill Hinzman, who just happens to share a name with the late actor who played the Cemetery Ghoul in George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead and later made his own zombie movie with FleshEater.

Sophia Wilde (You Don’t Know Me), Miranda Otto (Annabelle: Creation), Alexandra Jensen (Frayed), Joe Bird (First Day), Otis Djanji (Aquaman), and Zoe Terakes (Wentworth) star.

The Philippou brothers have said they’ve already shot some sort of Talk to Me prequel, but it’s not clear if or when we’ll get to see that footage. In addition to Talk 2 Me, they have signed on to make a new film adaptation of the Street Fighter video game franchise, they have an action drama project they’d like to make, and they also have a horror script called Bring Her Back that they want to get into production.
