The Boy 2 starring Katie Holmes now called Brahms: The Boy II

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

STXfilms and Lakeshore Entertainment's follow-up to horror film director William Brent Bell’s PG-13 horror-thriller, THE BOY starring Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans will be creeping around in the walls of your local multiplex this July and today we have word THE BOY 2 isn't actually going to be called THE BOY 2 but will instead be called BRAHMS: THE BOY II. I would have gone with THE BOY II: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO. But that's just me.

Cohan and Evans are not returning this time around and have instead been replaced with Katie Holmes (BATMAN BEGINS) who leads the cast with Christopher Convery (THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB) to co-star as her son. Owain Yeoman (THE BELKO EXPERIMENT) joins as her husband, and Ralph Ineson (HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS) will play the role of “Joseph.” Brent Bell returns to the helm.

The movie follows this synopsis:

Unaware of the terrifying history of Heelshire Mansion, a young family moves into the estate, where their young son soon makes an unsettling new friend, an eerily life-like doll he calls Brahms.

Written by Stacey Menear, who also penned its predecessor, THE BOY 2 will be produced by Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Eric Reid, in addition to Matt Berenson, Jim Wedaa and Roy Lee. The original film was produced for less than $15 million and grossed $68M worldwide so, yeah, a sequel was basically a given. BRAHMS: THE BOY II will be creeping around in the walls of your local multiplex come July 26, 2019.
