The Netflix streaming service released a batch of images from their upcoming horror comedy The Curse of Bridge Hollow back in August, and with the film’s October 14th release date now very near they have finally unveiled a trailer! You can watch it in the embed above.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (Fantasy Island 2020) from a screenplay Todd Berger and John R. Morey, The Curse of Bridge Hollow has the following synopsis:

A teenage girl, who accidentally releases an ancient and mischievous spirit on Halloween which causes decorations to come alive and wreak havoc, must team up with the last person she’d want to in order to save their town – her father.

Priah Ferguson, who is best known for playing Erica on Stranger Things, stars in the film and is joined in the cast by Marlon Wayans (Scary Movie), Kelly Rowland (Freddy vs. Jason), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), John Michael Higgins (A Mighty Wind), Nia Vardalos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Lauren Lapkus (Orange Is the New Black), Holly J. Barrett (Life in Pieces), Myles Perez (Lip Sync Battle), Abi Monterey (Doom Patrol), and Helen Slayton-Hughes (Parks and Recreation). The film’s IMDb page lists Wayans’ Scary Movie co-star Dave Sheridan as a cast member as well.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is clearly aimed at a younger audience, but the trailer does make it look like it’s going to be reasonably entertaining. This will probably be a good “gateway horror” movie for youngsters who are interested in the genre… and there’s no way I’m not going to watch a movie that features someone using a chainsaw to take down skeletal zombies.
