The full-length trailer for Deadpool 2 now has a release date

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While you're busy sharpening your claws and putting the finishing touches on that cat suit you've been saving since last year's sexy Halloween party, you might want to place an order to pick up a few chimichangas on your way to see BLACK PANTHER on February 16th. I say this because, prior to viewing one of the most highly-anticipated comic films of the year, the full-length trailer for DEADPOOL 2 is set to play before T'challa and his Dora Milaje take the MCU by storm. Additionally, there are also whispers of the trailer arriving online as a Valentine's Day treat, for all you love-lorn Marvel fans out there.

Furthermore, Collider, who broke the news about the trailer's debut, is reporting that the trailer is set to feature Josh Brolin's Cable. This is bound to please fans of the time-traveling gunsmith, as so far all we've seen of the grizzled warrior is a brief shot of his mechanized hand, at the tail-end of that DEADPOOL 2 teaser everyone loved so much.

As we dig into this news, one has to wonder if the trailer being attached to the front of BLACK PANTHER is meant to serve as writing on the wall regarding the Disney and 21st Century Fox deal that's expected to go through? Granted, we don't know how Fox's Marvel movies will be affected by the merger, but there could always be the chance that one day we'll see Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther and Ryan Reynold's Deadpool exchanging design plans for vibranium-based samurai swords. Obviously, there's no way to confirm this just yet, though the thought certainly is an entertaining one, is it not?

Directed by ATOMIC BLONDE's David Leitch, DEADPOOL 2 which also stars T.J. Miller and Zazi Beets will arrive in theaters on May 18th.
