The Monster Squad (1987) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

The time has come for a new episode of our Best Horror Movie You Never Saw video series (now being released on the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel under the “Revisited” banner), and in this episode we’re taking a look back at director Fred Dekker’s 1987 film The Monster Squad (watch it HERE)! Those of you who have been genre fans for a while may be thinking “Everybody has seen The Monster Squad!”, but you might be surprised how many people aren’t aware of this movie, and we have to let them know about it. Scripted by Dekker and Shane Black, inspired by the classic Universal Monsters movies (plus Abbott & Costello and The Little Rascals), The Monster Squad has the following synopsis:

A group of youngsters find themselves up against the combined might of Dracula, the Mummy, the Gill Man and Frankenstein’s Monster, who arrive in town in search of a magic amulet.

Andre Gower, Robby Kiger, Ryan Lambert, Ashley Bank, Michael Faustino, Brent Chalem, Stephen Macht, Leonardo Cimino, Duncan Regehr, Tom Noonan, Jonathan Gries, Mary Ellen Trainor, Lisa Fuller, and Stan Shaw star.
