When STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS hits screens next year, it will mark the first live-action Star Wars film to be released in over 10 years. We have all been waiting patiently for that day to come and now we really start the journey there with the first trailer for the film. It’s been said the movie is set approximately 30 years after the defeat of the Empire and the demise of Darth Vader; the plot follows a trio of young leads, along with our favorite characters from the previous installments. It’s short and sweet and finally here!

Watch it now and tell us what you think below, we will have our initial thoughts up right away!

On first glimpse, J.J. Abrams has definitely given us a movie that feels more realistic and less CGI while also managing to give us 90 seconds that barely reveals anything.  Daisy Ridley looks dressed like Leia in RETURN OF THE JEDI, Oscar Isaac looks like a classic Rebel pilot, and John Boyega fits the Storm Trooper outfit well.  Still, now we have a ton of new questions:  why does the Millennium Falcon look different?  Who is narrating the ominous teaser?  Why are the light sabers different?

But, does any of this matter?  This teaser is proof positive that STAR WARS can continue without feeling like THE PHANTON MENACE.  This looks good.  Damn good.  Now, I need to just see the original actors in action.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS arrives on December 18, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Harrison Ford, Adam Driver, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Lupita Nyong’o, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, and Gwendoline Christie.
