Last week we let you guys know that Blumhouse’s upcoming THE PURGE TV SERIES snagged Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning director Anthony Hemingway (“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story”) is set to direct the pilot episode of the upcoming USA/SYFY series.

Today we have news that Lili Simmons, Hannah Anderson and Lee Tergesen will be joining the cast which already includes Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Gabriel Chavarria, and Jessica Garza.

You can check out character descriptions for the three new actors below and then make sure to hit us up and let us know how excited you are to check out THE PURGE TV SERIES once it hits later this summer in the comments below or on social media!

Hannah Anderson (JIGSAW) is set for the series regular role of Jenna, “an anti-Purge and devoted to charitable causes, who is accustomed to locking down on Purge Night. Her choice to venture out for the first time leads to an encounter with violence that forces her to deal with deep truths about herself and her marriage.”

Lili Simmons (TRUE DETECTIVE) is set for the series regular role of Lila, “a young, rich, and rebellious, woman who refuses to fit in with the pro-Purge socialite crowd. Her confidence and charm mask a vulnerability that will be exposed as she attempts to deal with unfinished business before the sun rises.”

Lee Tergesen (WAYNE’S WORLD) is set for the series regular role of Joe, “an armored, masked, and seemingly ordinary man who drives through town, intervening acts of Purge violence while listening to the taped lectures of a motivational life coach.”

THE FIRST PURGE synopsis:

Behind every tradition lies a revolution.  Next Independence Day, witness the rise of our country’s 12 hours of annual lawlessness.  Welcome to the movement that began as a simple experiment: The First Purge. To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community.  But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation.

The Purge TV Series comes to us via Blumhouse Television and Universal Cable Productions and will air on USA and SYFY. The series is created, and executive produced by franchise creator James DeMonaco, Jason Blum, Platinum Dunes, Sebastien K. Lemercier, and Thomas Kelly.
