The Walking Dead, tenth season, AMC

The Walking Dead was set to wrap up its tenth season in April, but as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to spread, AMC announced that they would be unable to complete post-production on the season finale in time. "Current events have unfortunately made it impossible to complete post-production on The Walking Dead Season 10 finale," read the press-release, "so the current season will end with its 15th episode on April 5th. The planned finale will appear as a special episode later in the year."

During The Walking Dead's virtual Comic-Con panel, it was revealed that the tenth season finale will air on October 4, 2020 at 9pm ET on AMC; but wait, there's more! The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang also announced that six additional episodes, which will be considered part of the tenth season, will be shot and aired in early 2021, which brings the tenth season to 22 episodes total, the most episodes per season in the history of the series. Naturally, this means that the eleventh season of The Walking Dead will be delayed. The new spin-off series, The Walking Dead: World Beyond, will also debut on October 4, 2020 at 10pm ET, immediately after the tenth season finale of The Walking Dead, although I guess it's not exactly the finale anymore, is it? An extended clip of the opening moments of the new episode was also released, which you can check out below.

Greg Nicotero, who directed the season finale, teased last month that it's one of his favourites of the season. "It tees us up so well for Season 11 that it’s a little agonizing for me to not be able to talk about it," Nicotero said. "The last two minutes of the finale are gonna just… people’s jaws are gonna drop." We also learned earlier today that the sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead will debut on October 11, 2020, which means that October is going to be positively full of walkers.
