The release of director Matt Reeves’ WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is still nine months away, but the marketing machine has been switched on. Coinciding with the New York Comic-Con, a digital billboard promoting the film has been put on display in Times Square.

If you can’t make it to Times Square to see the billboard, don’t worry. It may be bigger and more impressive there, but the content of the billboard has also been uploaded to YouTube and can be viewed below, from the comfort of your own home.

Written by Reeves and Mark Bomback, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is the third entry in the APES storyline that began with RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and continued with DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.

In ‘War for the Planet of the Apes’, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Gabriel Chavarria, Judy Greer, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Sara Canning, Aleks Paunovic, and Amiah Miller star.

WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is scheduled to reach theatres on July 14, 2017.
