The voice cast for the upcoming computer-animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has been unveiled and it is lean, green and mean, offering a collection of comedians, hip hop artists and even a pro wrestler.

At the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Seth Rogen (co-writer and TMNT fan) announced the Mutant Mayhem voice cast, with Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon playing the titular heroes. But it’s the supporting cast that will make fans yell “Cowabunga!”

The supporting cast of Mutant Mayhem includes a lot of major names in both hero and villain roles: Rogen and WWE icon John Cena will play Bebop and Rocksteady, Rose Byrne is Leatherhead, Giancarlo Esposito is Baxter Stockman, Ice Cube is Superfly, Jackie Chan will voice Splinter, Hannibal Buress is Genghis Frog, Ayo Edebiri is April O’Neil, Paul Rudd is Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph is Cynthia Utrom. Sorry, no Tokka and Rahzar! Cena previously voiced a character on the series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Mutant Mayhem’s official plot: “After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”

As per Ramsey Naito, president of both Nickelodeon and Paramount Animation, “We are beyond thrilled by this world-class cast we’ve assembled to bring these iconic, beloved characters to life in a new chapter of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe. This really sets a new bar for this globally celebrated franchise, and we can’t wait to show audiences this film.”

A TMNT project may seem an odd choice for Rogen, but the actor recently spoke of the connection, saying all of the teen comedies he’s made have prepared him for Mutant Mayhem. Jeff Rowe, who helmed the Oscar-nominated The Mitchells vs. the Machines, directs. Mutant Mayhem will be the second animated Ninja Turtles feature released in theaters, following 2007’s TMNT.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem spins into theaters on August 4th.
