Trailer for Showtime’s Black Monday series brings Wall Street crashing down

Showtime's latest comedy series actually premiered last night, but as it's a slow day, here's a trailer for Black Monday to give you a taste of the '80s-fueled greed which the Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg produced series has in store for us. Starring Don Cheadle (AVENGERS: ENDGAME), Andrew Rannells (A SIMPLE FAVOR), and Regina Hall (SUPPORT THE GIRLS), Black Monday takes viewers back to October 19, 1987, also known as Black Monday, the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. "To this day, no one knows who caused it … until now," reads the official synopsis. "It’s the story of how a group of outsiders took on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street and ended up crashing the world’s largest financial system, a Lamborghini limousine and the glass ceiling."

Co-creator Jordan Cahan told Entertainment Weekly that Black Monday consists of "a little mystery, a lot of comedy, an immense amount of cocaine." Star Don Cheadle added that although he wasn't planning on returning to television so soon after House of Lies wrapped, he quickly changed his mind when he realized the potential of the series. "You haven’t seen this before on TV," Cheadle promised. Black Monday airs at 10 p.m. ET on Showtime.
