Trailer for The Report finds Adam Driver hunting for the truth

Anyone who closely follows the world of movies has likely heard about THE REPORT, the political drama that debuted at Sundance this year to immense critical acclaim and was later purchased by Amazon. The studio just released the first trailer for the movie starring Adam Driver as investigator Daniel J. Jones, who when working for the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence was tasked with investigating the CIA’s interrogation program, only to uncover terrifying truths about the government's cover-up of severe torture practices.

Debuting at Sundance this year the movie was met with rave reviews, many already hailing it as one of the year's best. Our own Chris Bumbray sang its praises at the festival, and you can read his review here. Amazon then went on to buy the movie for a whopping $14 million (via Variety), and are positioning it for a strong awards season run. 

Written and directed by Scott Z. Burns (CONTAGION, NO TIME TO DIE), the movie also stars Annette Bening as Senator Dianne Feinstein. Jon Hamm as Denis McDonough (White House Chief of Staff under Barack Obama), Corey Stoll, Matthew Rhys, Jennifer Morrison, Tim Blake Nelson, Ted Levine, Michael C. Hall, Sarah Goldberg and Maura Tierney.

Amazon Studios will release THE REPORT in theaters on November 15, 2019, and then make it available on Prime Video November 29, 2019.

Here's the synopsis:

The Report is a riveting political thriller based on actual events. Idealistic staffer Daniel J. Jones (Adam Driver) is tasked by his boss Senator Dianne Feinstein (Annette Bening) to lead an investigation into the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program created in the aftermath of 9/11. Tenacious by nature, he pursues the truth when others would have given up, and his explosive findings uncover a conspiracy by top government officials to destroy evidence, subvert the law, and hide a brutal secret from the American public.
