Trailer released for the bonkers Chinese monster film Land Shark!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Frankly, the idea for LAND SHARK seems like something so elemental and obvious, that it's shocking it hasn't already been made into a movie already! Hell, even Asylum made something called SHARKTOPUSS before deciding that sharks would be more dangerous swimming under the ground. But at least the upcoming Chinese monster movie is filling that void. You can check out the crazy trailer at the top of the article, and here's the official synopsis:

The boss of a pharmaceutical company has invested in the establishment of a biopharmaceutical research laboratory located deep in the jungle. By modifying the shark gene to develop a new type of anti-cancer drug, a huge crisis also came quietly: due to the change of the shark’s gene, the gene mutation was fierce and showed the characteristics of other organism

Hey, looks fun to me! I love how bombastic and campy it looks, and though the CG effects aren't big-budget Hollywood level, they still have their charm. I'll definitely check it out if given the chance!

Meanwhile, LAND SHARK – directed by Cheng Siyu – will be released in China later this year. However, no North American released date announced as of yet. But we'll keep you posted!

So what do you guys think? Any other great Chinese monster movies to check out? Either way, sound off below!
