The Twilight Zone returns June 25th; check out the eerie new trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I hope you're prepared for things to get weirder than they already are, because CBS All Access has announced that THE TWILIGHT ZONE is set to return for its second season on June 25th. The premiere date reveal arrives on National Twilight Zone Day, courtesy of a new trailer for the upcoming season that promises a host of bizarre stories and characters to come. In addition to these already-awesome unveilings, CBS also announced that all 10 episodes of the anthology series executive produced by Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg will release on the same day.

When the duo's modern re-imagining of the beloved TV series created by Rod Serling returns, it will deliver more socially conscious tales of terror featuring one hell of a guest cast. Set to be featured as a part of the upcoming season are actors: Morena Baccarin, Kylie Bunbury, Jenna Elfman, Ethan Embry, Sky Ferreira, Tavi Gevinson, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, Gillian Jacobs, David Krumholtz, Thomas Lennon, Sophia Macy, Natalie Martinez, Joel McHale, Chris Meloni, Gretchen Mol, Paula Newsome, Billy Porter, Jimmi Simpson, Jurnee Smollett, Daniel Sunjata, and Damon Wayans Jr., among others.

As a die-hard fan of The Twilight Zone ever since the fifth grade — my teacher, Mr. Gizmondi, was obsessed with Rod Serling — I cannot wait for the second season of Peele and Kinberg's version to make its triumphant return to television. There's nothing I like more than sci-fi that holds a cracked mirror toward society, revealing its many flaws, foibles, and unwitting desire to be devoured by its own collective hubris. Here's hoping that the new season brings plenty of stories that are worthy of the Twilight Zone legacy.
