Two Weeks to Live: Maisie Williams is out for blood in new series trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

After showing her enemies no mercy as Arya Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones, Maisie Williams is back to add a few names to her kill list for the upcoming British dark comedy, Two Weeks to Live. The six-episode original limited series was created by Gaby Hull, executive produced by Phil Temple, produced by Charlotte Surtees, and is directed by Al Campbell.

The show marks Williams' first major TV role since wrecking shop all over the Seven Kingdoms in HBO's Game of Thrones. Joining Maisie for the run-and-gun comedy are Sian Clifford, Taheen Modak, and Mawaan Rizwan.

Here's the official synopsis, per Sky.com:

Kim Noakes (Maisie Williams), a strange young misfit who was just a little girl when her father died in murky circumstances. Following his death, her mother Tina whisked her away to a remote rural life of seclusion and bizarre survival techniques.

Now all grown up, Kim sets out into the real world for the first time to begin a secret mission of honoring her father’s memory. Meanwhile, socially awkward Nicky isn’t good at impressing girls, and when Kim walks into his and brother Jay’s local pub, it sets in motion a chaotic series of events that puts all their lives in danger. Who would have thought a few drinks and an ill-judged prank could go so violently wrong?

Tina arrives in search of Kim and the unlikely crew soon find themselves on the run from murderous gangsters and the police with a massive bag of stolen cash. But Kim is no ordinary fish out of water – she’s more like a great white shark who knows how to strip a Smith & Wesson SDVE pistol in 6 seconds flat and skin a deer to make a sleeping bag whilst perfectly reciting the lyrics to ‘I Will Survive’. With her in their team, they might all just get out of this alive.

While David Benioff and D.B. Weiss arguably pooched the final season of Game of Thrones, Maisie's Arya Stark had more than earned a permanent place in pop culture history thanks in no small part to her display of power and precision. Now that GOT is in the rearview, it'll be great to see how Williams plans to use her action star skills for something a little different, both in tone and complexity. Personally, I'm all for it, as the trailer makes this limited series look like a hell of a lot of fun.

Two Weeks to Live will arrive on HBO Max on November 5th, so be sure to mark your calendars.
