Venom: Let There Be Carnage Blu-ray release set for December

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is bringing Venom: Let There Be Carnage to DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Blu-ray, and 4K steelbook on December 14th – and Amazon is already accepting pre-orders at THIS LINK! Cover art for the Venom 2 Blu-ray and 4K release can be seen below. The DVD release has the same cover art as the regular Blu-ray. There’s no word on whether or not these releases will contain any interesting bonus features.

Directed by Andy Serkis from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, who crafted the story with star Tom Hardy, Venom: Let There Be Carnage has the following excuse for a synopsis:

Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters.

Hardy plays journalist Eddie Brock, whose body is also inhabited by the alien symbiote known as Venom. He is joined in the cast by Woody Harrelson as serial killer Cletus Kasady, who pairs with a symbiote to become the super-villain Carnage; Michelle Williams as Brock’s ex Anne Weying; Reid Scott as Doctor Dan Lewis, Anne’s boyfriend; Naomie Harris as the villainous character Shriek; Stephen Graham as Detective Patrick Mulligan, and Sean Delaney as a younger version of Mulligan.

In the comics, Mulligan also gets coated with a symbiote and becomes a character called Toxin, “more powerful than Venom and Carnage combined”. Maybe we’ll see something like that in a future sequel… which is almost guaranteed to happen, because Venom: Let There Be Carnage has made over $420 million at the global box office. That’s less than half of the 850+ million its predecessor Venom (watch it HERE) made in 2018, but we’re living in different times now.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is also getting a digital release on November 23rd.
