After completing his latest role as Frog for director Clark Duke's upcoming crime thriller ARKANSAS, it's been announced that THE WEDDING CRASHERS and FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY actor Vince Vaughn will star in a THE PURGE-like comedy feature for Hulu titled THE BINGE. The film, which hails from American High, is set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal, and the only day anyone can participate in the “fun” is on Binge day.

Directed by Jeremy Garelick (THE WEDDING RINGER) from a screenplay penned by Jordan VanDina (ANIMANIACS, SUPERMANSION), the upcoming project also has Skyler Gisondo (SANTA CLARITA DIET), Eduardo Franco (BOOKSMART) and Dexter Darden (THE MAZE RUNNER) along for all the drug-addled shenanigans. According to Deadline, the plot follows three friends, Griffin (Gisondo), Hags (Darden) and Andrew (Franco), who have all just turned 18 making them finally eligible to participate in the elusive once a year Big Binge Party. Also set to pop some pills and tumble down the March Hare's rabbit hole are Grace Van Dien and Zainne Saleh.

Boy oh boy, I can only imagine what the set is going to be like for this film.

To tell you the truth, I'm a little surprised that it's taken this long for someone to place a drug-related spin on THE PURGE formula. You know what, though? I'm here for it. Vaughn is no stranger to leading outrageous comedies, and the supporting cast sound as if they'll make for a fine bunch of hallucinogen-driven hooligans throughout Garelick and VanDina's vision. I'll tell you what, though. Someone better keep a keen eye on the prop department for this one, lest some bonafide barbiturates find their way into the mix. Sure, it would likely make for some grand comedy, but we don't need anyone tripping off into Wonderland while attempting to complete the day's filming quota. Have fun, everybody, and remember to partake of the devil's candy responsibly.
