For those of you looking forward to Wonder Woman's solo film, you'll get to see it almost a full month sooner! Warner Bros Pictures has just announced a few release date changes today, the first of which is bumping up WONDER WOMAN from June 23 to June 2, 2017.

Also on the docket is Andy Serkis' JUNGLE BOOK: ORIGINS. It looks as though WB wants to distance itself even further from Disney, so they're adding an extra year of production time to their animal picture, which will now be released on October 19, 2018. While seemingly a bummer for those looking forward to a different take, Andy Serkis himself took to Facebook to talk about why this is a positive change.

Andy Serkis on the JUNGLE BOOK: ORIGINS' new date:

I've got to say that personally I'm absolutely thrilled that Warner Brothers have changed the delivery date of Jungle Book: Origins. The ambition for this project is huge. What we are attempting is an unprecedented level of psychological and emotional nuance in morphing the phenomenal performances of our cast into the facial expressions of our animals. We are breaking new ground with realistic non-humanoid animal faces ,such as a panther or wolf, ensuring that they convincingly communicate with human language and emotion via performance capture, and are able to stand up to real scrutiny in richly complex dramatic scenes. So, every minute more that we have to evolve the technological pipeline will make all the difference…the evidence is there already and it's off the chain exciting, so hang on in there…This is truly next generation storytelling, and it will be the real deal!

It's worth noting that Warner Bros. has sated that an untitled event film will take JUNGLE BOOK's original slot on October 6, 2017, and that two untitled DC films are set to hit on October 5, 2018, and November 1, 2019, respectively. Anyone want to take any bets on which of those dates are for a solo Batman flick?
