Warner Bros. has picked up a sci-fi spec script entitled SECOND SON. The screenplay was penned by Justin Rhodes, who previously edited shorts before writing and directing CONTRACT KILLERS. The script earned him representation with ICM and manager Kevin Donahue.

ICM hooked Rhodes up with Scott Aversano (above, SCHOOL OF ROCK, TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE), who helped Rhodes further develop it and is attached to produce the picture. Warner creative exec Chris Gary brought the project in. Sarah Schechter will oversee.

Warner preemptively bought it last week and are keeping the details under wraps, but sources say the story is “an adventure set on another planet with twists.” We’ll keep you updated as the project develops.
