Who Framed Roger Rabbit? blu ray trailer hits you like a ton o’ bricks

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? is undoubtedly one of the best, if not THE best, live-action film mixed with 2D animation.  Not that there’s a whole lot of them out there, but still…it’s pretty damn great.  It’s been years since I’ve seen the film, but I have nothing but fond memories and at this stage in the game of HD viewing, I wouldn’t sour my eyeballs by watching it on regular DVD.  With that, it looks like us HD snobs will be getting our way sometime in 2013, as Disney is now promoting the release of the Robert Zemeckis helmed classic in blu ray format, complete with three animated shorts.

Check it:

If you’ve never seen this film (wait…really?) then I implore you wait for this release to see what all the fuss is about.  Some may worry that the 1080p transfer would cause the film to look dated, but the great thing about ROGER RABBIT is that it’s all 2D animation, which holds up pretty well as is.  Plus, there’s a number of terrific performances (both voice and live), including Bob Hoskins, Christopher Lloyd, Kathleen Turner, Charles Fleischer, and the great Mel Blanc, voice of the original voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Tweety Bird.

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? 25th Anniversary edition is expected to hit shelves sometime in 2013.  Look for an official announcement shortly.
