Is this the official teaser poster for the upcoming vampire flick 30 DAYS OF NIGHT? Dunno! The crazy creepozoids over at Bloody Disgusting think so (and they got it from Steve Niles' MySpace page, and considering he wrote it, it's might just be). But official or not, that's a pretty snaz image.

The high-concept horror flick stars furrow-browed Josh Hartnett and toothy beauty Melissa George as a married sheriff and deputy in a sleepy Alaska town where a month passes without daylight… making it the perfect feeding ground for a clan of thirsty vampires.

The movie was directed by David Slade, who made me feel both excited and icky (but mostly excited) with HARD CANDY. Sam Raimi’s Ghost House company produced the adaptation of the Steve Niles comic series.

Extra Tidbit: Raimi famously plunked down a cool million for the privilege of adapting the comic series (which has spun off into numerous comic sequels).

Cool looking poster. Only "blemish" I can see is that "based on the graphic novel" line. It kinda ruins the brutality feeling of the poster.

The poster is pretty much the cover of the graphic novel. Although i wish they had gone blue instead of red. Steve Niles is a pretty good vampire author, I'm looking forward to the movie version.

Nice Digifruitella. This is exactly what Steve Niles would use as cover art (and the actually art inside the book) on one of his graphic novels. Love the choice of design direction for this if it is authentic.

gotta love the people who are trying to compare this to 300, when 30 Days of Night poster is being faithful to the artwork of the graphic novel, especially the cover of it, it's in the same vein.

I haven't really heard much about the film, but i really enjoyed the cmics and really enjoyed Ben Templesmith's art. Does anyone know if the art will be present in the movie at all?

Completely agree.
First thing I thought was 300. Style wise that is, not plot, (which it doesn't really have, which is also a rip-off of 300).

Ehh, it's okay. Looks like it was made by the same people who made the "300" posters.
