I for one would love to see a new Daredevil movie. Great character--but Affleck sucked as him. Affleck was a decent Murdock, but wholly unbelievable in the lame DD suit.

I haven't seen it, but there is no way that the director's cut is a good Daredevil movie. One of the big problems I had with the film was that it really did not seem to respect the world at all, and therefore was embarrassingly over the top. It had more of a Fast and the Furious (but even sillier) tone than say a Spider-Man tone. Bullseye standing up on a moving motorcycle with his arms outstretched? Come on.

It would be great to see someone older than Affleck in the role. Matthew Fox is a good choice, especially since it would be nice to root for him after hating his character more and more on Lost.

While we're speculating on Battlestar vets, how about Tahmoh Penikett for DD? He did a pretty good job of portraying a kind of conflicted righteousness that the Man Without Fear is known for. Oh, and the dude who played the awesome Romo Lampkin as... Mysterio?

And he really got a good on-screen chemistry with Jon Favreau. Just a what if question: what if Daredevil's director's cut WAS a theatrical version? That would have been awesome coz I adore the Director's Cut more. My vote: bring Ben Affleck, Jon Favreau, and Jennifer Garner back. Especially Garner, since she's real-life wife to Affleck so on-screen chemistry between Daredevil and Elektra would even be better than the 1st Daredevil movie. They can change the director but who??

From the introduction of Elektra and Bullseye to the final climax, it all zoomed past you. If given a 2 hr run-time, we would've gotten an establishment of characters.

If they are to do a reboot than Damon is my pick to play Daredevil. He has the acting chops and he can do fight scenes ("Bourne" movies).

What they should do for the reboot and for the "Wolverine" sequel, is use Miller's work as their inspiration. Miller shouldn't direct it of course but his work should be the heart of the movie.

An all-star cast, a qualified director, Miller as a co-writer, and a hard PG-13 if not R would resurrect this franchise from the grave.

I'm one of those Daredevil fans who really hated the Johnson film. I think the biggest problem was that he just doesn't know how to make a good superhero flick (remember, he made Ghost Rider as his followup film). I've also seen the director's cut but didn't like it much better. However, I agree that a reboot could have a ton of potential, as long as the right people were involved. I also agree with Arvindh's idea of getting respected, but somewhat off the radar actor to play the lead.

My picks:

Daredevil - Ethan Hawke
Kingpin - Ray Winstone
Karen Page - Claire Danes
Foggy Nelson - Mark Ruffalo
Bullseye - Mark Strong

I actually think Sam Rockwell would make a pitch perfect Bullseye, but he's already doing Iron Man, so that seems unlikely. For the director I'd go with either Alex Proyas or Billy Ray.

Well that's the worst lead on a story I've ever heard... If Katee Sackhoff had been offered a role in something no one has even greenlit a script of I'm pretty sure the studio would buy the comics for her... I mean, Marvel's pretty liberal about giving material to those involved in their projects.

Daredevil is my favourite non-Batman comic book character and while I dug the first movie (the Director's Cut, which sadly most people never saw but is actually a hell of a lot better) I'd love to see the character return to the big screen, especially if Marvel produced. I always thought Guy Pearce could make an interesting Man Without Fear.

That said, it could still be done a shit load better, so I’m down with the reboot idea. Not that it will ever happen, but still.

As for Starbuck playing Typhoid Mary, I wouldn't get too excited or read too much into her shopping trip. The property is still at Fox, so it's way more likely the role will go to Queen Latifah.

As for who should play, I say get a not-too-famous face. Works better. Someone who has a decent resume but isn't a Hollywood who's-who. Someone that will give a damn about the character and not just use the movie as a way of getting into the "in" thing right now; comic book adaptations aka massive summer blockbusters.

But in reality, I say enough with the damn comic book flicks already. I for one, and SICK of hearing about yet another damned "adaptation". Considering how many actual stick to the history and story of the comics, why do they bother? Hey, this is a great character, so let's buy the rights, then change EVERYTHING about the back story, and make it our own thing. Losers.

And yea, Sackhoff is kinda hot.
