Farmiga and Monaghan join ‘Source Code’

Duncan Jones, director of one of last year’s best films MOON, has just added two bits of loveliness to his follow-up time-travel thriller SOURCE CODE.

Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan join the film which already stars Jake Gyllenhaal about “a soldier (Gyllenhaal) who, as part of an experimental government program to investigate a terrorist incident, finds himself in the body of an unknown commuter living and reliving a harrowing train bombing until he can find out who is responsible for it.”

Farmiga plays a “hands-on” (rawr) communications officer who controls Gyllenhaal’s soldier as he rips through the fabric of space and time. Monaghan will be Gyllenhaal’s love interest as a woman on the train with whom he is involved.

Monaghan will next be seen this year in Sofia Coppola’s SOMEWHERE alongside a presumably less werewolf-ish Benecio del Toro. Farmiga, currently making some awards noise for her role in Jason Reitman’s UP IN THE AIR, will next star in HENRY’S CRIME with Keanu Reeves and James Caan.
