If you're a sports fan like me, you've been reading the news all morning - Brett Favre has completed tarnishing his Green Bay legacy and is heading to New York. After 16 seasons with the Packers, Favre decided to retire, unretire and then ask to be traded. He got his wish and he's headed East where apparently New Jersey was a big draw for him (seriously!). But alas, this is not a sports website and we're here to talk about movies.

While I'm sure you all know about Brett Favre's cameo in THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY, you might not know about his other big acting break. I was able to track down some video of Favre's appearance in the movie REGGIE'S PRAYER where the young quarterback stars as a janitor named Burt who may or may not be retarded (doesn't he know you never go full retard?). I never heard of this film (it was released in 1996) but if you're a big fan of the sports heroes starring in terrible movies genre you can actually buy it here (and might I suggest Joe Namath in CC AND COMPANY). Check out Favre in action below!

Extra Tidbit: The Jets are actually Favre's third NFL team. He was drafted by the Falcons and traded to the Packers one year later.

YES
As a Jets fan (yes, I'm a lonely, sad soul...) this is unbelievable news. Even if they go 4-12 again (they won't), it'll still be a hugely entertaining season.

It's cool. I'm just bitter that I once had a promising nfl career with the san diego chargers. Hell, I took my alma mater to the Rose Bowl back in 1998 and then was drafted number 1...oh no wait, that was Ryan Leaf.

douche bag?
oh... that's right, you ARE fit to judge him, because you kept your respect by retiring as the star quarterback of an NFL team, and didn't succumb to the temptation of money and allure of continued fame and glory. For a second, I thought you were just some judgmental nobody.

I can't believe Favre has to finish his career on a shitty team like the Jets. Is he really gonna be motivated to play for a team who's best shot is to finish 9-7?

FYI
everyone in this clip is from the Green Bay Packers. Reggie White and Mike Holmgren are the other two guys.

since you brought it up
Brett Favre has done so much for that team and that city that he deserves to write his own ticket. If B Favre wants to come back and play, you let him! No matter what happens from here, Green Bay has tarnished the legacy of the team and the greatest player they've ever had. Congrats on that.

I saw this movie!
I watched this movie back when it was released. I don't remember any of it now. By the way, I live in Green Bay and was at the practice where Brett was supposed to return on Tuesday. I also had enough of hearing about it, and it was pretty frustrating encountering it at work and at training camp. I am relieved it is over. Seriously?
As if I hadn't had enough of the 24 hours a day coverage on ESPN, and now I have to read about him on my favorite movie site too. Bah!
